Dear Hopefully-Interested-in-Cargo-Bikes Person,

Can I really quickly explain my obsession with cargo bikes?

A few years into having a bike shop, a customer rolled in with an old cargo bike. It was rusted, the tires were rotten, the grips were falling off.

One particular employee and myself got really excited at the prospect of fixing it up for the customer. I had ridden 10,000 different bikes by the time this project came in, but I really hadn’t seen anything like it. We pulled it apart, painstakingly cleaned, repaired and rebuilt (or replaced when necessary) every single part on the entire bike.

I remember distinctly how great it felt to ride it when it finally came together. I smiled from ear to ear and immediately imagined what I would do with a cargo bike of my own. It really got into my head.

Fast forward a few years and lots of miracles. I patented a new cargo bike design, ran a successful Kickstarter to test the viability of the products and then launched my very own cargo bike company.

But…

I found a few things really frustrating about having a cargo bike company.

1. Almost no one knows what a cargo bike is.
2. The people who *would* love them the most are intimidated.
3. There isn’t a source people are finding to simply learn about cargo bikes in a fun and easy way.

And that is where this site comes in. We are keeping it simple. We are keeping it fun. And if it is nerdy by nature, we will try to un-nerd-ify it, whenever possible.

Thanks for reading,
Scott Taylor
